Pink Color Code

Pink is often described as light red, but pinks can really run the gamut – from baby pink to fluorescent pink.

There are so many pinks that it can be hard to know where to start.

We’re starting off with a traditional light pink represented by the #ffc0cb color hex. This is referred to as “pink” online, even though that term is commonly applied to many other hues!

In the RGB color space, this color pink is represented by (255,192,203). That means that red light is fully on, and there’s a good amount of green and blue light as well. This keeps the hue on the pastel side.

The RGB system is used by any type of display monitor – computer, TV, mobile device – which employs red, green, and blue light to create all the colors the human eye can see.

The nearest web safe color is is #ffcccc.

Here is the pink #FFC0CB color swatch:

Shades of Pink

Shade means the pure color with black added. We will start with our pink swatch from above.

Here are 9 shades between the #ffc0cb hexadecimal number through to pure black.

I am only counting three of these as pink shades, because they quickly go from pinks to looking more like muted purples and nearly-blacks!

Tints of Pink

Tint means your original color with white added. Here you’ll see pastel to pale pink.

Below we will run from the hexadecimal code for #ffc0cb through to pure white color.

Pink Color Codes

Now we get into all the different pinks: bright, muted, neon. Dark pink to pastel pink. Common shades plus more unusual!

The bright pinks have a totally different vibe than the soft ones. So much so, that there’s a whole group of quotes about them in this collection of pink quotes.

Pick the right one: Check out the exact colors in the swatches, then the color numbers.

You can grab these codes for your web page or design projects by copying the hexadecimal numbers and pasting it in where you need it.
