What Color Is Teal?

Teal color is a deep blue green.

Teal tends to be more green than blue, so it can be described as a bluish green. But there are many different teal colors – including teal green and teal blue!

The color name teal refers to the color around and behind the eye of the teal duck, also known as the Green-winged Teal.

The Blue-winged Teal doesn’t bear this marking. So we can say that teal is a green.

Teal could also be called a shade of cyan, which is a bright blue-green, and the ink color used in 4 color printing.

A shade refers to a color with black added. Teal can be printed with 100% cyan plus 50% black, so we can see it’s a shade of cyan.
